Introduction
Feeling tired, low on energy, and experiencing health issues can take a toll on our daily lives. Many of us may dismiss these symptoms as a natural part of ageing or stress, but sometimes the root cause lies deeper within our bodies. Today, I want to share with you Vicky’s story. Vicky has a busy senior role in a large organisation and was beginning to struggle with some typical peri menopause symptoms. Read her story in her own words here:
1. Why did you decide to seek help?
“I was fed up feeling so tired and not having enough energy; it was making me a bit intolerant at work, and I was getting more migraines and some hair loss. The more I read about peri-menopause symptoms, the more I thought I knew that was the root cause – but my endometriosis meant I wanted to consider alternatives to just jumping straight into the HRT options via the GP.”
2. Had you tried anything before?
“I’ve never worked with a nutritionist properly before, but I was already taking omega 3 and magnesium based on a brief chat I’d had with Nikki previously. The magnesium had been helping my migraines, so that made me want to work with Nikki more fully for a proper assessment and plan.”
3. And what results did you get from your programme?
“My energy levels have dramatically improved, and so has my tolerance/concentration levels. I have no doubt this is down to the changes in diet Nikki recommended plus the supplements she recommended I start taking. In the 3 months since I have made changes, we’ve also been moving and decorating a new house, and I’m not sure I would have managed that at all the way I’d been feeling! The hair loss has also reduced, and my migraines, whilst present still, are mild and manageable when they happen.”
4. How are you feeling right now?
“Ready for a cup of tea 🙂 I’m pleased with the progress and know that it’s down to me to keep up the good work.”
5. Were there any lightbulb moments during the process?
“Yes, lots! Particularly the realisation of how much my diet had changed in the previous 18 months as I had started to eat more vegetarian meals and ended up with more carb-heavy behaviours with less veg, ironically. Re-introducing more oily fish, more grains than pasta, more lentils again, and far more green veg (some of which we had stopped having for their gas-producing qualities!) really has made a big difference to both me and my partner.
We thought we had a pretty healthy diet in that we didn’t eat lots of processed foods, refined sugary stuff, and already had lots of good fats etc – but Nikki pointing out just how unbalanced our typical plates of food were was a real light bulb moment!
The DUTCH test results also revealed triggers for my endometriosis that weren’t helping my symptoms either. It was a huge revelation how all the symptoms stitched together for cause and effect!”
6. How would you describe the support you received?
“Nothing was too much trouble for Nikki. She answered questions quickly about how and when to do the tests, and made the results and her recommendations easy to understand. She is firm with the changes she recommends you make, but was never preachy or judgmental, and she listened with understanding to both the goals and problems you want to address, but also the complications of life that create some of the barriers and issues to overcome.”
7. Would you recommend this programme?
“Yes, 100%. It’s a really good investment in understanding your body and how you can help it run better, without just jumping to medical intervention. You wouldn’t hesitate to get your car serviced and spend money on the fixes – so why do we hesitate when it’s an investment in our natural health, with benefits for the long term in both our mental capability, energy, and physical well-being?”

“Just to say a very big thank you to Nikki for taking the time to support me and opening my eyes to the changes I should make.”
